Our groups

At International Preschool of Gdansk, we recognize the unique developmental stages and interests of each child. To cater to these differences, our children are thoughtfully divided into four distinct groups: Pioneers, Explorers, Inventors, and Creators. Each group represents a specific age range and facilitates an environment where children can flourish with activities and curricula designed just for them.

Pioneers – Our Pioneers are the youngest group, stepping into the exciting world of learning for the first time. Their days are filled with activities that stimulate their curiosity and help develop basic social skills.

Explorers – As children grow, so does their appetite for discovery. The Explorers group is designed for children ready to delve deeper into their surroundings. With a slightly more structured day, the Explorers are guided through interactive storytelling, music, and art, encouraging their natural desire to learn about the world around them.

Inventors – For children who have begun to ask “why” and “how,” the Inventors group provides a canvas for their imagination. They are introduced to more complex concepts through hands-on activities, science experiments, and problem-solving challenges. This encourages critical thinking and the joy of discovering new ideas.

Creators – The oldest group, Creators, are on the cusp of transitioning to more formal schooling and are encouraged to express themselves and their ideas in intricate ways. Creators focus on refining their literacy and numeracy skills through creative projects, collaborative work, and technology, ensuring they are confident and prepared for the next step in their educational journey.

Preschool activities

All activities in our preschool are conducted in English based on the assumptions of the international IB PYP programme while ensuring the implementation of the Polish core curriculum for pre-school education of the Ministry of Education and National Heritage. English accompanies the children in our preschool all day long, during teaching, games, walks and meals. Growing up in a bilingual environment influences the child’s future linguistic abilities, facilitates the learning of further languages and develops abstract thinking skills. Bilingual children have better concentration skills, perform better in mathematics and in learning to read.

There are daily afternoon extra-curricular activities at our school which are included in the tuition fee.

Foreign languages

The following languages are taught at IPG: English, Spanish and Polish.

Trips

Learning also takes place outside the walls of the preschool, so we try to organize interesting outings that have a cognitive value, but also integrate the preschool community. The proposed trips are charged extra.

Food service

The preschool works with a catering company that provides full board for the children. Breakfast, 2nd breakfast, lunch (soup & second course), afternoon snack. Catering is at an additional cost.

Psychological and pedagogical support

All members of the IPG community are covered by the support provided by the Psychological and Pedagogical Counselling Centre “Osiek”. The counselling centre offers individual support, consultations, classroom workshops and training. Among its staff, a psychologist, an educator, a speech therapist and a vocational counsellor work with the school on a permanent basis.
